As many of you are aware, there is the potential for a government shutdown at the end of the week. I wanted to let you know that we are monitoring the situation and are in regular dialogue with the Office of Personnel Management and the Office of Management and Budget. We are seeing positive action in Congress and are confident there is time to avoid a lapse in funding.

We may not know definitively until late Friday, but if a lapse does occur we would do a shutdown virtually on Wednesday, December 26, with further instructions prior to that time. All contractors should check their status with their supervisors.

We are committed to providing you with updated and timely information and will provide direction if there is a need to alter normal operations.  Additionally, communications from Bob Gibbs and the Office of Chief Human Capital Officer will provide you more detailed instructions and information if necessary.

I know this uncertainty can be distracting and stressful, and I want to thank all of you for staying focused on the mission. I sincerely appreciate your patience through this process.

Ad astra,

Jim Bridenstine
